PHIRIS was founded by Austin Gibson, a healthcare technology and operations professional with experience working alongside hospital systems, clinical teams, and enterprise healthcare stakeholders.

Through firsthand exposure to hospital workflows, data systems, and operational constraints, Austin identified persistent gaps in patient identification and information access during time-critical care.

PHIRIS was created to explore practical, privacy-first approaches to these challenges through research, system design, and collaboration.
